A first visit to a Hee-Haw session, soon established why there is such a positive vibe regarding Hee-Haw Promotions. Staged in the upstairs bar of Santiago in the Grand Arcade, Leeds, it soon became apparent that this was to be a very special night run by dedicated lovers of “Live” music. With the chandelier reflecting the glow of the stage illuminating candles down on to the packed venue, this was a stress-busting and relaxing inspired oasis. The venue and followers were treated to a night of music of the highest order with Gary Stewart getting the night off to a memorable start with his own inimitable style, Gary was followed on stage by Odi, fresh for a successful tour of Ireland and proving again what a talented duo Claire Odlum and Dave Redfearn have become. The headline act was the highly rated Mark Geary from Ireland, who wowed the audience with his banter and musical expertise, and showed why he is compared to Damien Rice and that ilk in his native Ireland. A first visit, but definitely not the last, as the glow of the atmosphere and musical brilliance will remain in the memory for the foreseeable future, top marks to all concerned.

LIAM HAYES & PLUSH - Orchestral Pop MaverickIt is rare that Plush makes live appearances or releases a record. But when he does its worth the wait, his album ‘Fed’ was ranked No 5 in Rolling Stone’s Album of the Year (2002). With a new album finally released this year, follow up tour dates, and since it maybe many years before we see him again only a fool would risk missing out.
